1 C.Hess is clearly a pseudonym but I have been unable to identify whose it was. N.B. the Dutch player Abraham Speijer (Speyer) (1873-1956) was known to play under a pseudonym, so it might be him, although he might have been expected to do better. JS

11 April 2016 A strong eight-player all-play-all, held in the Crypt(!) at St Augustine's College, Canterbury, in April 1930. 16 out of 28 games, plus 1 part-game and 5 games from subsidiary events. This tournament is already to be found on ChessBase and in one of Tony Gillam's rare/unpublished tournament booklets but I have found one additional complete game - Price-Yates, Rd 2. A photo and crosstables appended.
7 January 2022 Added a game from Major A: J.Thompson 0-1 A.Mortlock.
